Job summary

Mathnasium in San Marino, CA is seeking a dynamic Lead Instructor to deliver individualized math instruction to K-8 students and to mentor fellow instructors using the Mathnasium Method.

You will guide learning plans, monitor progress, coach others, and collaborate with center leadership to keep operations running smoothly while maintaining a positive, productive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Within one year of earning a high school diploma.
• Strong arithmetic and Algebra I skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with students of varying ages.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Experience mentoring, training, supervising, or supporting others preferred.
• Bilingual Mandarin is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized math instruction using the Mathnasium Method, focusing on conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.
• Support students from kindergarten through middle school with varying skill levels.
• Guide students through personalized learning plans while tracking progress.
• Take ownership of student progress by monitoring performance and helping students reach goals.
• Model effective teaching strategies and provide coaching to instructors.
• Assist with instructor training and maintaining consistent instructional standards.
• Support student behavior management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Communicate student progress and recommendations with parents.
• Partner with Center Leadership to support daily operations and scheduling.
