Job summary

Mathnasium in South Pasadena, CA is seeking a dynamic Lead Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on delivering individualized math instruction and serving as an instructional leader within the learning center.

You will coach and mentor instructors, model effective teaching practices, and help maintain a positive, collaborative learning environment for students from kindergarten through middle school.

Qualifications

• Within one year of earning your high school diploma.
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and collaborate with fellow instructors.
• Previous experience teaching or tutoring math is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized math instruction using the Mathnasium Method™, focusing on conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and student growth.
• Support students from kindergarten through middle school with varying skill levels and learning needs.
• Guide students through personalized learning plans while tracking progress, celebrating achievements, and encouraging confidence and independence.
• Take ownership of student progress by monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting students in reaching their learning goals.
• Model effective teaching strategies while coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback to instructors.
• Assist with instructor onboarding, training, and maintaining consistent instructional standards.
• Support student behavior management and foster a positive, engaging learning environment.
