Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace Materials Engineering is seeking a Lead Materials Engineer (Mechanical Design) to provide technical leadership from the Torrance facility, supporting local design and manufacturing as well as global materials and process engineering activities. The role requires multitasking across several concurrent tasks and acting as a SME in metallurgical disciplines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience working in materials engineering disciplines.
• Demonstrated knowledge in aerospace metallurgical processes, primarily Welding and metal joining such as brazing.
• Experience performing drawing reviews to ensure material and process requirements are met in designs.
• Recognized industry authority with impact in Honeywell Aerospace interests.

Responsibilities

• Establish partnership with Materials Engineering management on technical matters and risks.
• Act as a role model technical leader to foster the Materials Engineering organization.
• Provide technical training, coaching, and mentoring to develop engineers' abilities.
• Lead all phases of product lifecycle as technical lead including material selection and design reviews.
