Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Lead Material Handler to direct and coordinate team activities, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety standards. The role involves supervising materials handling, coordinating with other leads, and managing waste and equipment maintenance.

The position requires experience with hazardous materials handling and heavy equipment operation; strong reading/writing communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum two years hazardous material processing and/or handling.
• Minimum one year heavy equipment operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all team member activities to achieve team goals.
• Maintain operation efficiencies across assigned area and lead in multiple process areas.
• Interface with other lead material handlers to achieve team goals and manage site waste.
• Create maintenance work orders for equipment upkeep.
• Respond to spills and manage leaking containers promptly.
• Provide routine manpower for box storage areas related to housekeeping, RCRA, TSCA and safety.
• Operate forklift and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Assist emergency coordinator during emergencies.
• Prepare logs and reports for tracking purposes.
