Job summary

Vulcan Elements seeks an experienced Manufacturing Materials Manager to design end-to-end material flow and the supporting ERP/WMS environment. You will lead inbound receiving, WIP movement, and outbound shipping, establishing storage, lot genealogy, and compliance for hazardous materials while partnering with Automation, Finance, and Quality to ensure accurate inventory and service levels.

Qualifications

8+ years in manufacturing materials management or warehousing
Experience designing plant material flow and warehouse layouts
Strong inventory control practice including cycle counting and lot traceability
Experience with hazardous material receiving, storage and shipping
Experience owning safety programs for powered industrial trucks
Budget ownership and cost control experience
Willing to be on the floor daily through construction and ramp-up

Responsibilities

Design end-to-end material flow from inbound receiving to finished goods shipment.
Define WIP locations, buffer sizing and staging areas between production areas.
Establish storage strategy including hazardous material segregation and environmental requirements.
Specify material handling equipment and traffic patterns for safe movement at rate.
Own ERP/WMS configuration including item masters, storage locations and transactions.
Develop master data controls and BOM-linked material data.
Establish lot genealogy and documentation for sourcing and defense requirements.
Deploy labeling and mobile scanning for real-time transaction capture.
Coordinate ERP–MES integration for production consumption and WIP moves.
Own inbound receiving, dock management, and outbound shipment processes.
Build materials planning functions and production scheduling interfaces.
Recruit and onboard scaling organization up to 167, with training programs.
Own safety performance, budget, and key performance measures.
