Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Material Flow Engineering Manager to design, optimize and execute the end-to-end material supply chain from suppliers to the assembly line. The role ensures material availability for high-volume production while upholding safety and efficiency. The position reports to a Sr.

Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and is based at Rivian’s Normal, IL or Atlanta, GA facility. The role emphasizes technical leadership, cross-functional strategy, and first-principles problem solving

Qualifications

• 7+ years in high-volume manufacturing OEMs, logistics, or supply chain engineering with at least 5 years in formal supervisory or leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years' experience with data-based development of end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and/or material flow processes for high-volume, high-complexity facilities.
• Demonstrated CAD experience (AutoCAD) for layout planning.
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel/Google Sheets).
• Hands-on experience with MES, MRP, or WMS systems.
• Exceptional analytical abilities and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation of supply chain logistics and real-time throughput optimization.
• Develop material flow strategies to optimize cost, space, and throughput.
• Oversee cross-functional data systems and IT integration for material tracking.
• Design lean, safe factory layouts and material delivery solutions.
• Manage cross-functional project teams and vendor relationships.
• Create SOPs and standard work documentation.
