Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer at its Normal, IL facility to own end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and material flow from external warehouses to the assembly line. You will design layouts, implement material flow equipment, and develop models to optimize cost and throughput across a high-volume operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of supply chain or material flow engineering experience.
• 5+ years with data-based development of end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and/or material flow processes for high volume facilities.
• 3+ years’ experience in layout planning using 2D/3D design platforms (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
• 1+ years’ experience with modeling or simulation software (FlexSim, AnyLogic).
• 1+ years’ experience working with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and communicate with leadership.
• Technical leader capable of navigating ambiguity and implementing first-principles solutions across a global footprint.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale supply chain and logistics processes from external warehouses to the assembly line.
• Design value-stream, logistics, routing, and warehouse layouts.
• Implement material flow equipment such as conveyors, EMS systems, AGVs, and ASRS systems.
• Develop models to analyze cost, throughput, and space factors for sequencing and batching.
• Plan and manage project schedules aligned to program milestones.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets on all projects.
• Lead automation of supply chain logistics using AI to optimize real-time throughput.
