Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Sr. leader for the ME Conveyor Engineering team to redefine standards for manufacturing conveyor systems and drive innovative solutions on production lines across locations including Normal, IL; East Atlanta, GA; and Plymouth, MI.

You will guide a team of engineers, ensure deployment of company standards, coordinate with suppliers, and push data-driven improvements for high-performance material flow and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business with equivalent industrial experience.
• Strong technical knowledge in conveyance, AGVs and automation.
• Proven knowledge of co-design with automation equipment suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of conveyor and AGV engineers and specialists across centers.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize conveyor, AGV and equipment operations.
• Collaborate with ME and Plant cross-functional teams for project coordination.
• Conveyor and AGV FAT and SAT testing.
• Own and maintain ME Conveyor and AGV equipment specifications.
• Develop proposals, scopes of work, timelines and budgets.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders via a co-design approach.
• Drive adoption of best practices and new technologies in manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Support digital design tools to improve detail, simulation and reduce rework.
• Apply cost engineering to analyze and optimize project costs.
• Stay updated on conveyor/AGV tech trends and apply to processes.
• Travel 50-75% if based in Plymouth, MI.
