Job summary

Rivian seeks a Material Flow Engineering Manager to design, optimize, and execute the end-to-end material supply chain—from suppliers to the assembly line. This leadership role focuses on achieving high-volume production targets with safety and efficiency at its core.

The position requires navigating ambiguity, driving cross-functional strategy, and implementing first-principles engineering across the global footprint, with some travel and collaboration across sites in Normal, IL and Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years in high-volume manufacturing OEMs, logistics, or supply chain engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years in a formal supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced automation and AI strategy across material flow and logistics.
  • Model, analyze, and optimize material sequencing, batching, and storage.
  • Oversee data architectures for material tracking and inventory control.
  • Design efficient lean factory layouts and material handling assets.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams and drive safety and throughput.
  • Create standard work documents and SOPs to minimize variation.
