Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a Master Technician to diagnose drivability, air conditioning and electrical systems, while mentoring a team to improve customer care and satisfaction. The role involves direct customer interaction and educating clients on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicles.

Leads and trains shop staff, maintains a clean workspace, and adheres to safety policies. Requires ASE certifications and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 8+ ASE certifications preferred (A1 through A8).
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform duties of Technician A/B, Mechanic, and General Service Technician.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and non-mechanical colleagues.
• Continuously learn new technical information through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
