Job summary

Vermont State Colleges System (VSCS) seeks a skilled maintenance supervisor to oversee renovation and repair projects at a master level, including carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. You will plan, supervise, and coordinate construction and maintenance tasks, estimate costs, and secure supplies.

This position requires seven to nine years of experience and high school education; you will train staff, monitor progress, ensure safety, and maintain accurate records across multiple campuses

Qualifications

• High school education desirable, with 7–9 years of relevant training and/or experience.
• Project estimating and supervision experience required.
• Master level skills in building trades (carpentry, locksmith, masonry, concrete foundation work) and basic plumbing/wiring.

Responsibilities

• Oversee renovation, repair, and new construction projects; plan and supervise assignments.
• Estimate costs, time, and materials; procure supplies and equipment.
• Train staff, supervise projects, monitor progress, and ensure safety standards.
• Perform snow removal and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Maintain records of repairs and completed work.
