Job summary

The Foth Companies is seeking a Lead Marine Structural Engineer to serve as the technical lead and designer on waterfront and coastal projects. This role supports planning, engineering, and construction of shoreline protection and marine structures, performing coastal analyses and developing construction documents.

The successful candidate will mentor teams, introduce innovative design technologies, and collaborate with project managers to ensure budgets, schedules, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience developing construction documents (plans and specs).
• Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and designer on coastal, waterfront and marine projects.
• Perform coastal condition calculations and structural analyses for shoreline protection and marine structures.
• Lead development of construction documents (plans and specs) ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to manage budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Identify and implement innovative design technologies and improve standard work practices.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge and support the firm’s technical library in coastal engineering.
• Support business development with technical approaches and client relationships.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build, lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
