Job summary

The Foth Companies is seeking a Project Coastal Engineer in Jacksonville, FL to support coastal and marine projects through technical design, data analysis, and engineering calculations—translating complex coastal processes into clear insights for clients and teams.

You’ll contribute to projects such as beach nourishment, inlet studies, and coastal structures, while mentoring junior staff and serving as a client-facing technical resource.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Coastal Engineering with emphasis in geotechnical or coastal engineering.
• 5+ years coastal engineering experience in feasibility, design, and/or construction management.
• Engineer in Training certificate.
• Experience developing construction documents, including plans and specifications.
• Experience with wave analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead as technical lead on waterfront and coastal projects.
• Identify and implement new design and engineering technologies that set industry standards.
• Perform calculations and structural analyses; craft and review design drawings for marine infrastructure.
• Oversee project lifecycles with Project Managers (budgets, schedules, quality).
• Develop construction documents and contribute to the coastal engineering library.
• Engage in client relations and business development.
