Job summary

The Foth Companies seeks a Lead Coastal Engineer to manage complex coastal and waterfront projects from inception through delivery in Jacksonville, FL, with a future in-office path in Palm Beach County. You will mentor juniors, support permitting, and serve as a client-facing technical expert.

Responsibilities include leading design calculations, numerical modeling, and developing construction documents, while translating technical findings into clear client insights for impactful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Ocean, or Coastal Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program; PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 10+ years of coastal engineering experience in feasibility, design, and/or construction management.
• Master’s degree preferred; experience in coastal consultancy advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal and waterfront projects from inception to delivery, coordinating resources and client interactions.
• Perform numerical modeling, data analysis, and develop reports and construction documents.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the firm’s technical library in coastal engineering.
• Engage in client relations and business development, including crafting proposals and maintaining relationships.
• Ensure compliance with permitting, regulatory processes, and funding applications.
• Communicate complex findings clearly to clients and stakeholders.
