Job summary

Department of the Navy seeks a Marine Machinery Mechanic Supervisor I to direct the repair, overhauling, and installation of marine engines and propulsion equipment aboard ships at multiple naval yards including Pearl Harbor, Puget Sound, Portsmouth, Norfolk, Bangor and the Trident Refit Facility Bangor.

The supervisor will lead a team, coordinate with contractor personnel, review work for conformance, maintain safety and quality, and support travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites as mission demands while

• Leadership and supervision experience
• Ability to direct troubleshooting, repair, overhaul of marine engines and propulsion equipment
• Strong coordination with contractor personnel and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Direct personnel in troubleshooting, repair, overhaul and installation of marine engines and propulsion systems on vessels
• Coordinate with contractor technical representative personnel for troubleshooting and repairs
• Assign tasks, ensure proper work methods, and verify availability of plans, materials and tools
• Assess quality and quantity of work and review outputs for acceptability
• Support and promote Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program
• Verify work progress and ensure adherence to sequences, procedures and deadlines
