Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar; 8 years of calibration experience; experience with internal combustion engines and development; MATLAB or Python for data analysis; engine/vehicle control software development; DAQ setup and troubleshooting.
  • Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; experience with engine control system strategies; Simulink modeling; DOE and regression analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complete engine calibration development for entire engine families, including dynamometer tests and drivability tasks on boats.
  • Develop new software strategies for Mercury products in engine powertrain control and vessel propulsion, including 1D and co-simulation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources for comprehensive test/development plans; communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Improve internal development, validation, and calibration processes to speed up product release with robust results.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers; travel 8–10 weeks per year.
