Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn invites applications for a full-time Mammography Supervisor in the Department of Radiology. The role combines supervision of mammography imaging procedures with clinical leadership and compliance responsibilities.

Responsibilities include ensuring standard of care, regulatory adherence, staff coordination, equipment management, QC/QA, training students, data reporting, and use of RIS, PACS, PenRad, and Hologic systems.

Qualifications

• New York State X-Ray Licensure required.
• ARRT Mammography certification required.
• Minimum 5 years hospital-based experience in mammography imaging.
• Preferred 3+ years supervisory experience; Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform mammography procedures with independent judgment and initiative.
• Ensure standard of care and regulatory compliance for patient population and facilities.
• Coordinate staff assignments and activities within the department; collaborate with other hospital services.
• Procure and store supplies; provide statistical information for workload, patient flow, and budgeting.
• Assist in training student technologists and medical students; participate in orientation and new techniques implementation.
• Utilize Radiology Information System, PACS, PenRad, and Hologic equipment; contribute to QA/QC programs.
