The City of Hemet is currently accepting applications for the position of Lead Maintenance Worker. There are two (2) vacancies in the Public Works Department, one in the Storm Drain division and one in the Streets division.

Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for a Lead Maintenance Worker. Typically, this includes three years of experience in construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of streets, parks, and storm drains, along with a high school diploma or equivalent.
Possession of a valid Class A California driver's license or must obtain one within six (6) months of appointment.
This position requires physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking on various surfaces, reaching, twisting, kneeling, bending, and more. It involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, using chemicals and lubricants, and exposure to hazards. The role may require climbing ladders, working at heights, in confined spaces, and operating heavy machinery. Emergency response may be required outside regular hours.
Standard office environment with moderate noise and controlled temperature. Travel between sites and interaction with the public are expected.
