Our Lead Fleet Automotive Maintenance Technicians are skilled professionals who ensure vehicles are maintained and repaired to high standards, providing leadership and technical expertise to shop personnel, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Who You Are

You are a Master-level technician with leadership skills, capable of guiding other technicians, and passionate about vehicle repair and customer satisfaction. You enjoy working as part of a team, are friendly, and take care in your work and driving habits. You value training and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

You will maintain and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics, and deliver excellent service to customers. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Performing preventive maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, diagnostics, and advanced repairs.
  2. Handling repairs on various systems such as brakes, electrical, suspension, and more, based on certification levels.
  3. Maintaining shop cleanliness and safety standards, disposing of fluids properly.
  4. Creating and maintaining vehicle records, and upfitting new vehicles as needed.
  5. Performing complex repairs, troubleshooting, and fabrication, including welding and equipment design.
  6. Coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs, and providing roadside assistance if necessary.
  7. Supervising shop productivity, providing work direction, training staff, and managing inventory.
  8. Ensuring safety compliance, leading safety initiatives, and adhering to OSHA, EPA, and local codes.
  9. Leading and motivating the team, setting an example, and maintaining shop morale.
  10. Performing quality control, reporting issues, and assisting in employee training.
  11. Managing inventory, tools, and shop equipment.
  12. Reporting safety concerns and promoting a safe working environment.
  13. Collaborating with management to plan staffing and improve performance metrics.
  14. Enforcing policies, leading by example, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master Level ASE certification preferred.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
  • Strong safety awareness and physical ability to perform repairs, including lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Diesel experience and advanced troubleshooting skills are preferred.
  • Experience working on various vehicle applications from light-duty to heavy trucks and machinery.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and background checks.
