Job summary

LaMotte Company is hiring a Maintenance Technician/Production Supervisor for our Chestertown, MD site. The role blends hands-on equipment maintenance with front-line production supervision during 1st shift on weekends, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and productivity.

The ideal candidate will know PLCs, troubleshoot electrical systems, and demonstrate leadership to manage personnel and plant operations on shift hours.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery.
• Demonstrates leadership, communication, and organizational skills to oversee production personnel.
• Experience in electrical machine maintenance and modification.
• Advanced in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer applications.
• Experience and skills in building construction and modification.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• EPA certification is preferred, not required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport 50 pounds, operate shop equipment and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair manufacturing equipment with electrical/PLC focus.
• Oversee production operations during shift to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets.
• Serve as primary contact for production and maintenance issues during shift.
• Ensure staffing levels and attendance on shift; approve time off.
• Coordinate production priorities and communicate with shifts/management.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality requirements, and safety policies.
• Escalate production, personnel, or equipment issues as needed.
• Maintain total productive maintenance per manufacturer procedures.
