Job summary

PLK Communities in Knoxville, TN is seeking a full-time Lead Maintenance Technician to supervise the on-site maintenance team and handle complex repairs. You will coordinate daily tasks, respond to after-hours calls, and ensure safety and quality across the community.

The role requires 3–5 years of multi-family maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and strong skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems. Training provided for HVAC as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years multi-family/apartment maintenance experience.
• Supervisory/Lead experience.
• Basic carpentry.
• Plumbing.
• Electrical and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Tools (hammer, screwdrivers, channel locks, multi meter, Allen wrenches, pliers, knife, flashlight).
• Able to respond to afterhours emergency calls as part of an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on leader for the maintenance team and property upkeep.
• Maintain physical integrity and safety of the community.
• Anticipate, identify and correct problems across systems.
• Perform all property maintenance tasks as needed.
• Maintain grounds and common areas.
• HVAC service and repair (willing to train).
• Prepare apartments for new residents.
• Complete work orders promptly.
• Ensure proper trash removal and recycling.
• Provide leadership and development for the maintenance team.
