Job summary

Hawthorne Residential Partners is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to manage complex work orders, mentor junior techs, and lead preventative maintenance efforts in our apartment communities in New Jersey. You should hold HVAC certification and have experience in electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and team leadership.

This role entails on-site work Monday-Friday, on-call rotation, safety compliance, and collaboration with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in apartment maintenance or a skilled trade such as HVAC, plumbing, or electrical. Supervisory or lead technician experience strongly preferred.
• Valid Driver's License; EPA/HVAC Certification; CPO Certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs in a timely and professional manner.
• Assure all service requests are completed by Hawthorne standards.
• Repair and restore vacant apartments to make ready status for next move-in.
• Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning.
• Completion of preventative maintenance according to company policy.
• Perform building and common area upkeep daily; maintain shop to facilitate inventory.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to the maintenance team.
• Conduct on-call emergency service rotation; follow OSHA safety guidelines; complete special projects as needed.
