Qualifications

• 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in maintenance repair (electric, plumbing, carpentry, masonry & use of associated hand & power tools).
• Valid commercial driver's license may be required for motor equipment regulated by law.

Responsibilities

• Serves as lead worker over inmates or staff in semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair work.
• Performs maintenance repair of equipment including electrical, carpentry, plumbing and related systems.
• Performs interior custodial duties and exterior grounds keeping.
• Removes snow and ice from sidewalks and inspects facilities for needed repairs.
• Operates machine tools and welding equipment for repairs to metal parts.
• Controls inmate movement and conducts searches when security breaches are suspected.
