Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Leader at the Orion Plant in Auburn Hills, MI. The role focuses on maintaining, diagnosing, and improving automated production equipment, with leadership of the maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will oversee startup, commissioning, and validation of equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with production needs.

Qualifications

• 5 Years experience in the manufacturing maintenance field.
• Experience in automotive production and high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of electrical/ mechanical/ computer systems work.
• Proficiency with industrial automation language.
• Experience using diagnostic tools.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical or Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Industrial maintenance, Electronics or related field.
• Certifications (Lockout tagout).
• Licenses (forklift).
• Journeymen's Card.
• Demonstrated history of leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automated manufacturing systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedules and standards.
• Support startup, commissioning, and validation of new or modified equipment.
• Follow all safety, OSHA, and plant procedures, including lockout/tagout.
• Coordinate and prioritize work assignments to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
• Support training, mentoring, and skill development of team members.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, policies, and procedures across the team.
• Partner with production leadership to align maintenance support with operational needs.
• Monitor work quality and ensure completion meets plant and company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including downtime reduction and equipment reliability.
• Assist in planning and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
