Lear For You in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, repair and maintain shop equipment across the plant. You will support production by reducing downtime, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance, ability to read blueprints and schematics, experience with CNC machines or robotics, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance
• Experience reading blueprints/schematics/technical manuals
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience with CNC machines, robotics, conveyors or automated equipment
• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)

Job Description

Maintenance Technician (Machine Repair Tech) - Orion Plant - Auburn Hills, MI

The Machine Repair Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position supports production by minimizing equipment downtime and performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Additionally, the maintenance team supports the entire facility, providing opportunities to learn and develop skills in a variety of industrial maintenance disciplines.

The Role:

• Foster a culture of safety awareness through correct and proper maintenance processes, procedures and actions.
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedules and standards
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
• Install, adjust, and align machinery, equipment, and machine components.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective parts and components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Collaborate with production personnel to resolve equipment-related issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs or ladders, bending/crouching.
• The ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Working at heights when needed

Your Qualifications:

• 3+ Years of experience in the manufacturing maintenance field
• Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office programs

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Experience in automotive production and high-volume manufacturing
• Experience with CNC machines, robotics, conveyors, or automated equipment
• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.

Bonus If You Have:

• Technical or Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Industrial maintenance, Electronics or related field.
• Experience with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, etc.)
• Experience with Robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa)
• Experience with HMI systems and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.)
• Knowledge of safety standards (machine safety, guarding, interlocks)
• Lean / TPM experience
• Journeymen's Card
• Experience in Automotive Manufacturing

Compensation Data

• Overtime opportunities available
• Pay: $35/hr
• 1st Shift/Mid Shift until Q1 of 2027, then the role will transition to second shift based on business needs.
