Job summary

BRT Extrusions INC, located in Niles, OH, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor (Lead Technician) to lead the shift maintenance team and ensure machinery is kept in peak condition. Main duties include coordinating repairs, training technicians, and driving proactive maintenance.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, PLC familiarity, and strong leadership to maintain production quality and safety on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Must have 1+ year manufacturing/maintenance supervisory experience.
2+ years maintenance/manufacturing experience.
Willing to work 12-hour shifts with varying schedule.
PLC training/experience a plus.
Welding/fabrication skills a plus.
Read and interpret electrical drawings a plus.
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
Ability to interpret specs, blueprints and job orders.

Responsibilities

Coordinate maintenance and repair activities for the shift technicians.
Train new technicians for skill evaluation and continuous improvement.
Perform repairs and teach others to work autonomously.
Train techs in aluminum hydraulic extrusions, press operation, preventive maintenance and scheduling.
Recommend modifications to reduce malfunctions and improve safety/quality.
Troubleshoot machinery and electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase.
Assist diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Suggest changes to improve shop efficiency and working conditions.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; enforce regulations.
Lead safety training for the crew on shift.
