Job summary

KETTLER currently seeks a Lead Maintenance Technician for Hawkins Press in Charlotte, NC. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and covers general maintenance, repairs in apartments and buildings, and ensuring curb appeal and quality of homes.

On-call rotation with the service team is required. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience, universal EPA/CFC certification, and strong HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repair skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience.
• Universal EPA/CFC Certification.
• Mastery of appliance, electrical and plumbing repair.
• Strong understanding of HVAC repair.
• Valid Driver’s License and must live within 30 minutes of the property.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be available for after-hours on-call maintenance (nights/weekends).
• Personal/reliable transportation to respond to emergencies.
• Must carry a cell phone and be able to use a computer.
• Ability to walk, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Participating in all maintenance projects.
• Performing general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Supporting the Maintenance Manager with budgets and other administrative tasks.
• Covering shared on-call rotation with Service Team (weekly rotation for 24/7 emergency calls/service requests).
• Responding to resident requests for maintenance and service within HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair; escalate as needed.
• Preventive maintenance repair on all systems at the property.
• Complete the make-ready process to prepare vacant units for leasing and new move-ins.
• Demonstrate customer service by treating residents with respect and resolving concerns efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned.
