Job summary

Post Brothers is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for Duchess Apartments in North Bergen, NJ. You will lead the on-site maintenance team, oversee repairs, scheduling, and vendor coordination to ensure safe, well-maintained living spaces for residents and visitors.

The role requires strong managerial experience, deep knowledge of building systems, and a commitment to quality customer service with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Collegiate degree or trade school in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or another trade.
• HVAC Certification preferred.
• 10 years maintenance, construction or Project Management experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial role.
• Advanced knowledge in building and maintenance systems, inventory control, and work order records.
• Proficiency in English communication.

Responsibilities

• Leads, trains, and manages maintenance staff; assigns work orders and provides technical assistance.
• Assists in selecting maintenance staff; provides performance feedback and training recommendations.
• Participates in on-call emergency rotation and responds to emergencies as needed.
• Leads property inspections and coordinates with vendors on building and alarm systems.
• Inspects vacant units and ensures turnovers are completed timely.
• Reviews work orders, sets priorities, and maintains preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manages inventory and controls budget; audits maintenance materials.
• Reviews contracts and oversees subcontractors; documents work and quality.
• Provides technical training for property associates; ensures safety standards.
• Ensures safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing).
