Job summary

Columbia Sportswear Company is seeking a Lead Maintenance Mechanic to lead the Facilities team in keeping the distribution center safe, efficient, and reliable. You will perform hands-on maintenance while guiding a team, prioritizing work, and ensuring equipment uptime across mechanical, electrical, and conveyor systems.

You will mentor technicians, champion preventive maintenance, and collaborate with Operations, Facilities, Safety, and other groups to meet business goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center environments.
• Experience leading maintenance activities and mentoring technicians.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, conveyor, and facility systems.
• Working knowledge of CMMS, preventive maintenance programs, and maintenance documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance activities, coordinate work priorities, and ensure maintenance readiness across the distribution center.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, and facility systems to maximize equipment uptime.
• Partner with Operations, Facilities, Safety, and other teams to resolve issues and support business objectives.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to maintenance technicians while supporting their development and success.
• Monitor work order completion, prioritize maintenance requests, and maintain accurate documentation within the CMMS system.
• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety programs, identifying hazards, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
• Inspect and maintain facility infrastructure, building systems, tools, and equipment to support a safe and efficient operation.
