Job summary

The City of Lakeland is seeking a highly skilled lead Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain buildings, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will mentor level I mechanics and coordinate complex repairs, working under general supervision.

Job requires five years of journey-level experience, welding and refrigeration licensing, and the ability to manage work orders and building automation systems. Candidate must hold a valid driver's license and pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of journey-level building trades experience.
• Gas and electric welding, brazing, soldering, and air conditioning training required.
• Valid Type-I/Type-II Refrigeration Service Engineers Society license required.

Responsibilities

• Leads, guides, trains, and monitors the work of level I mechanics and trainees.
• Oversees and performs repairs to plumbing, electrical fixtures, doors/windows/locks, pumps, and small engines.
• Repairs and replaces low-voltage systems; troubleshoots electrical circuits.
• Installs and repairs low-voltage HVAC controls and building automation equipment.
• Creates, receives, and delegates work orders; maintains records.
