Job summary

Peppertree Village Apartments in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Lead Maintenance Tech to oversee maintenance operations across our 192-unit community. You will lead a maintenance team, perform diverse tasks from painting to HVAC installations, and ensure safety and quality.

The role reports to the Property Manager, offers competitive hourly pay of $26 and an onsite housing benefit. Benefits include 401(k) match, health/dental/vision coverage, PTO and holidays, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience as a maintenance technician.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with common tools and appliances.
• Good physical condition and problem-solving skills.
• HVAC certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, schedule, and inspect maintenance staff work.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and inventory.
• Obtain bids for special projects.
• Collaborate with the property manager to maintain supply budget.
• Perform general maintenance including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Assist in setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems; conduct repairs.
• Perform manual repairs (locks, windows) and appliance troubleshooting.
• Handle on-call responsibilities as assigned.

Salary: $26.00 per hour (Subject to adjustment for onsite living)

Peppertree Village Apartments has a great opportunity for a Lead Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility of preserving the good condition and functionality of our 192-unit residential apartment community. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, HVAC installations, landscaping etc.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, schedule, and inspect work being performed by the maintenance staff
• Maintain a clean organized shop and maintain inventory
• Obtain bids on special projects
• Work with the property manager to maintain the supply budget.
• Perform maintenance of general maintenance including the areas of; electrical, HVAC, & Plumbing
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Appliance repair & troubleshooting
• Conduct general upkeep procedures
• On call responsibilities as assigned by property manager

Skills
