Job summary

Arizona State University seeks a General Maintenance Mechanic to perform electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks across campus facilities. The role supports university buildings, using hand and power tools and the TMA work-order system. A strong focus on safety and customer service is required.

The position may involve work at multiple ASU locations, with a Monday–Friday schedule and on-call readiness. A valid driver’s license and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience.
• Experience in institutional/commercial maintenance settings.
• Experience electrical, plumbing, and carpentry maintenance in hospitals/schools/large facilities.
• Proficient with electronic work order systems (TMA).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on 120/277V systems.
• Repair lighting, ballast, switches and outlets.
• Maintain plumbing in restrooms and labs; fixtures and drains.
• Carpentry duties including door hardware and flooring maintenance.
• Respond to elevator trouble calls and use the work order system (TMA).
