Job summary

Kerry Group is hiring a Lead Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift at our Melrose Park, IL facility. You will lead the maintenance team to repair, install, and maintain equipment, ensuring safety and GMP compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating repairs for extruders, mixers, conveyors and packaging lines. A strong background in welding and plant operations is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Apprenticeship or certifications preferred.
• 5–10 years of maintenance mechanic experience in food industry or bakery preferred.
• Knowledge of welding, refrigeration (ammonia), mechanical power transmission, and use of common shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance team to complete repairs, installations and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and regulatory compliance in line with GMPs.
