Job summary

BEST Human Capital & Advisory Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer Manager in Waverly, NY to lead a maintenance team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment and facilities. The role requires hands-on leadership in a manufacturing environment with focus on safety and reliability.

You will ensure EPA and OSHA compliance, develop preventive maintenance schedules, maintain CMMS records, and collaborate with production to minimize downtime and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum five years of practical work in equipment and facilities maintenance within industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Minimum two years of practical work leading teams and managing schedules and performance.
• Experience ensuring EPA and OSHA compliance and safety protocols.
• Excellent technical knowledge with electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
• CMMS/ERP experience and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities for equipment and plant facilities (preventive, predictive, corrective).
• Diagnose equipment failures and direct repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems with the team.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards plant-wide.
• Maintain CMMS records accurately and support equipment installations.
• Coordinate maintenance with production teams and external vendors.
• Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and cost reductions.
• Occasionally handle on-call duties and emergency breakdown support.
