Job summary

Job Juncture in Gary, IN is seeking a Maintenance Chief Engineer for a commercial laundry operation. This role leads the maintenance department, coordinating between departments to meet mechanical needs and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee daily repairs and preventative maintenance of industrial textile processing equipment, supervise the maintenance team, and drive capital planning in alignment with company policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance management experience with machinery, electricity, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder and boiler applications.
• Commercial laundry experience is required.
• PM program management experience in this industry or similar.
• Previous supervisory/management experience is required.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting of 3 phase 230 volt systems.
• PLC programming experience.
• Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs.
• Must be a team player with initiative and pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Safety is Priority #1. Maintain a safe working environment and protect assets.
• Ensure proper maintenance, PMs, repairs, and installations on all plant equipment.
• Supervise and assign daily work schedules to maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement PM programs, parts stockroom and inventory systems.
• Monitor utilities usage and pursue energy cost reductions.
• Recommend capital expenditures and procurement to senior management.
