Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced technician to troubleshoot and maintain industrial automation systems across a range of equipment including PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, robotics, and electrical power distribution. You will work in a manufacturing setting with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to travel for training and site support.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of controls, PLCs and electrical systems.
Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to multi-task.
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, robotics, and electrical power distribution.
Knowledge of multi-axis robots and ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems.
Willingness to travel occasionally (<5%) for training or site support.

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and facility systems focusing on controls (relay logic, PLCs, HMIs).
Troubleshoot, maintain, repair/replace and test automation components and networks.
Specifically work with Allen-Bradley and Siemens hardware/software.
Modify existing systems including controls, automation, robotics, electrical, mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Provide engineering/operations support for process issues and improvements.
Consult with suppliers to specify products and arrange purchases.
Participate in continuous Improvement initiatives.
Travel occasionally for training as needed (<5%).
