Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Maintenance Lead in North Carolina to supervise plant maintenance of rendering process equipment and lead the maintenance crew under the Plant Manager. The role ensures equipment and facilities are sanitary and well-maintained, with emphasis on safety per OSHA standards.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, welding and electrical/mechanical knowledge, and hands-on maintenance expertise in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing plant personnel.
• Proficient in basic welding and fabrication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance with industrial equipment and/or vocational training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
• Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment.
• Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities and duties.
• Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel.
• Responsible for ensuring all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA.
• Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections.
• Manage daily inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion.
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Prior rendering experience preferred.
• Advanced welding experience/skills preferred.
• Vocational school training preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Team player; works well with others.
• Detail oriented; well organized.
• Good math skills.
