Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Maintenance Lead to supervise rendering process equipment maintenance, ensure sanitation, and report to the Plant Manager.

You will troubleshoot, perform electrical, welding, and preventative maintenance, train staff, enforce safety, manage materials, and attend safety meetings in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing plant personnel.
• Proficient in basic welding and fabrication.
• Experience maintenance with industrial equipment or vocational training.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
• Prior rendering experience preferred.
• Advanced welding experience preferred.
• Vocational school training preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Good math skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
• Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment.
• Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities and duties.
• Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel.
• Responsible for ensuring all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA.
• Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections.
• Manage daily inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion.
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing and supervising plant maintenance of rendering process equipment; ensures that equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair with a direct report to the Plant Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance with industrial equipment and/or combination of vocational training
