Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a skilled Mainframe z/OS Engineer to lead operation, modernization, and reliability of the z/OS platform. You will collaborate with networking, storage, and security teams to ensure secure, resilient services and drive improvements across the mainframe environment.

The role requires deep mainframe expertise, on-call participation, and participation in a culture focused on in-office attendance with role-based flexibility. Jersey City location and 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Proven working knowledge of IBM z/OS operating system, including RACF security.
• Hands-on experience supporting z/OS in large-scale, globally deployed environments.
• Experience installing and servicing z/OS software using z/OSMF and SMP/E.
• Proficiency with diagnostic and performance tools like IPCS, RMF, SMF, and Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for operation, modernization, and reliability of the z/OS platform.
• Design, implement, and sustain systems engineering solutions with limited oversight.
• Coordinate with infrastructure partners to deliver secure and resilient services.
