Job summary

MetLife seeks a Lead Mainframe z/OS Db2 Site Reliability Engineer to modernize and optimize our mainframe platforms and drive reliability across the enterprise. You will architect and guide initiatives that bridge legacy stability with future-ready solutions, ensuring scalable and secure database systems.

In this hybrid role, you will lead cross-functional teams, implement CI/CD pipelines for database changes, and collaborate with stakeholders to align IT strategy with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mainframe engineering with service delivery.
• Expertise in IBM z/OS Db2 and related mainframe tech.
• Experience with mainframe modernization, integration, and migration.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of mainframe solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to mainframe teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver mainframe solutions.
• Establish new mainframe intake and change processes for workloads.
• Develop self-service automation for DDL and DML requests.
• Evaluate technologies to modernize mainframe platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain architectural governance and best practices for mainframe environments.
• Create and maintain roadmaps and blueprints for mainframe systems.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of z/OS Db2 subsystems.
