Job summary

MetLife is seeking a Lead Mainframe CICS/MQ Site Reliability Engineer to modernize and optimize our mainframe platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with evolving business goals.

You will guide architecture, lead cross-functional teams, and drive AI/automation-driven improvements across the mainframe ecosystem, while maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders and business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mainframe engineering with service delivery, engineering or architecture.
• Expertise in IBM z/OS, COBOL, CICS, and z/OS Connect and related mainframe technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of mainframe solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to mainframe development, operations, and modernization teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cost-effective mainframe solutions.
• Establish and enforce best practices and architectural governance for mainframe environments.
• Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps and blueprints.
