Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Lead Machinist to oversee machining operations while also contributing to production processes. This role will be split between driving production efficiency and managing individual machining tasks, ensuring that equipment runs smoothly and meets production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Machining Operations: Oversee daily machining activities, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Programming: Program CNC machines to produce precision parts, ensuring configurations meet specifications and reviewing programs for accuracy.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and address machine malfunctions or production issues, performing necessary repairs or adjustments to minimize downtime.
  • Work on Personal Jobs: Allocate 50% of the workload to operating and completing personal machining tasks, ensuring efficient time management.
  • Production Driving: Actively participate in production efforts by supporting the team and streamlining processes to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to foster a cooperative and productive work environment, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor junior machinists, sharing best practices and techniques to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in machining processes and work to implement best practices that drive efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a machinist, with strong skills in programming and troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or a related field preferred.
