Job summary

Tramec seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor – Machining to lead the 2nd shift in the machining department. This role combines direct floor leadership with operator support, setups, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to meet safety, quality, and production goals.

You'll supervise 3–5+ machinists, read blueprints and GD&T, monitor schedules, and partner with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance. The position requires strong machining knowledge and hands-on leadership on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Hands-on machining experience and strong supervision abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and specifications.
• Experience with setup, tooling, and troubleshooting in machining.
• Demonstrated quality inspection and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and direct machining employees on 2nd shift.
• Assign employees and machines based on production needs and skill.
• Remain involved in machining operations and provide hands-on support.
• Assist with setups, tooling, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor schedules, machine performance, downtime, and scrap.
• Read drawings and inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges.
• Identify and resolve machining and quality issues with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure safety, quality, and productivity; conduct shift meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce scrap and downtime.
