Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Tolleson, AZ is hiring a Lead Machine Operator. This role features 12-hour rotating shifts (645am-7pm and 645pm-7am) with a 5-2-2-5 schedule and biweekly day/night rotation.

Salary starts at $33.00 per hour, with a weekly performance pay program and a $1.00 shift differential for night hours. Leadership responsibilities include directing operators and assisting with maintenance and makeready tasks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience operating production machinery.
• Previous lead/leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment.
• Previous experience in web manufacturing, converting, or other high-volume production operations.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams on one or more lines with minimal supervision and direct assistant operators to maintain safety, productivity, waste, housekeeping and quality standards.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments; operate line systems with manual duties such as handpacking.
• Perform makeready/changeover machine setups according to production schedules.
• Assist in completing duties surrounding preventative maintenance tasks.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and increase production while meeting quality standards.
• Promote safety excellence and accountability to proactively recognize unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Perform quality inspections and tests, maintaining accurate records of results.
• Maintain and clean machines and working area as needed.
