Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Principal Engineer, Lentivirus Downstream Process Development, to lead LVV purification strategy and scale-up for GMP manufacturing in Somerset, NJ. You will drive modeling, analytics, and process transfer from bench to pilot/production scales, guiding a team of scientists with strong emphasis on quality and regulatory readiness.

The role requires deep bioprocessing knowledge, advanced modeling, and proven leadership to accelerate vector recovery, purity, and potency

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required or PhD preferred in a related field.
• 10+ years (MS) or 8+ years (PhD) of biotech process development/manufacturing experience.
• Strong GMP/CMC understanding for clinical and early-phase trials.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and scale LVV downstream purification processes.
• Develop mechanistic and AI-enabled models to improve process performance.
• Lead transfer from bench-scale to GMP manufacturing with tech transfer.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Upstream, Analytical, and CMC teams.
• Provide troubleshooting during clinical production runs and generate robust data.
