Job summary
Legend Biotech seeks a Principal Scientist, Upstream Vector Biology, to lead early LVV upstream development in Philadelphia, driving design through scalable bioreactor manufacturing. You will bridge construct-level design with upstream process outcomes and partner with Downstream, Analytical, and Tech Development teams to ensure end-to-end process coherence for IND-enabling programs.
The role requires deep molecular biology and bioprocess engineering expertise, DoE acumen, and independent
Qualifications
- MS or PhD with relevant industry experience in upstream vector development.
- Hands-on viral vector production and upstream development.
- Experience translating early processes to manufacturable platforms.
- Experience with DoE and risk-based decision frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Lead early LVV upstream development and process optimization.
- Design and execute seed train and bench-scale to scalable bioreactor studies.
- Collaborate with Downstream and Analytical teams to ensure end-to-end process coherence.
- Prepare data packages and stage-gate presentations for leadership.
