Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a capable Charge Nurse to oversee a nursing unit, coordinate staff schedules, and ensure high-quality resident care.

The Charge Nurse will supervise nursing staff, perform rounds, enforce infection control, and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to implement care plans and meet regulatory standards. Strong leadership, clear communication, and an active RN/LVN license with CPR certification are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved RN or LVN program.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Experience in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and oversight of an assigned nursing unit including assignment and coordination of nursing care.
• Provide supervision and support for nursing staff in accordance with their training level and resident acuity.
• Monitor for compliance with facility procedures and regulations by state and federal agencies.
• Maintain safe, efficient, and effective shift operation.
• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Conduct daily rounds to assess patient status and adjust nursing interventions as needed.
• Guide direct care staff to ensure proper technique and policy adherence.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning to personalize resident care plans.
• Ensure infection control practices are followed and documentation is complete.
