Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical power distribution for data centers.

You will lead product design from concept to implementation, partnering with multiple engineering disciplines and external partners to deliver resilient, cost-effective solutions. The role involves travel up to 30% globally, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards while driving continuous improvements and uptime for AWS

Qualifications

6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power distribution, or related infrastructure.
Experience carrying design concepts from exploration to deployment or mass production.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and submittal documents.

Responsibilities

Support Data Center Design Engineering and Hardware teams to design and develop innovative power distribution concepts.
Lead new product design and development, understanding design requirements and capturing customer input.
Collaborate with mechanical, structural, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance teams for well-integrated products.
Coordinate with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify electrical equipment and BOMs.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes and building regulations across regions.
Prepare and review product designs, BOMs, layouts, and wiring drawings.
Define project scope and provide technical support during manufacturing.
