Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with an active, unencumbered state license.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and applicable laws and guidelines.
• Current CPR certification.
• Long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan shift services.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents; complete required charts and orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Maintain good communication with inter-departmental staff and provide a calm, warm environment.
• Receive and relay nursing reports; round with physicians as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy of resident information; enforce safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
