Job summary

Boom Supersonic is building a first-of-its-kind LPBF lab to print extreme nickel superalloys for advanced turbine parts. This role designs DOEs, builds parameter sets from scratch, and owns the application development for production parts, with automation to minimize manual work and ensure traceability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of LPBF process and/or applications development on real programs with customers.
• Hands-on LPBF experience: powder loading, builds, monitoring, and debugging failures.
• Experience owning process development: parameters, DOEs, fault diagnosis and closure.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute DOEs for hard-to-print alloys on production LPBF machines and document results.
• Develop process parameters from scratch for extreme-preheat platforms printing superalloys.
• Own part-specific application development: orientation, support, distortion, depowdering, heat-treat, HIP, interfaces, inspection.
• Automate DOE generation and build prep to reduce manual work and speed setup.
• Write procedures and build records to carry the process from R&D to production.
• Scope, procure, install, and commission equipment and train others.
